Postponed NHS Highland Annual Review disappointing
Responding to news that NHS Highland have postponed their annual review, Jamie Stone calls for greater public scrutiny in the Health Board.
The review was due to take place on Monday next week but has been delayed due to “the recent change of executive leadership”. A spokeswoman for NHS Highland has said that a revised date will be announced in due course.
Commenting Jamie Stone said:
“I’m sure that NHS Highland would have been able to get its report out on time if everything was going well. However, to postpone it, with no date given for its publication, is incredibly disappointing and takes away the public scrutiny of the board.
“In allowing this postponement the Scottish Government are letting down those people who use this service who should be entitled to raise any concerns they have to the Health Board at the Annual Review. This reflects very poorly on the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Jeane Freeman.”
